They also fund young and established Canadian researchers working to find the causes and a cure through the Alzheimer Society Research Program.

Our more than two dozen programs work to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness and crime. We envision a world without prisons with strong and well-resourced communities for everyone. To help make this vision a reality, we are working to address the persistent ways in which women and gender-diverse people impacted by criminalization have been denied humanity and excluded from community.Our clients range in age from newborn to senior citizens. Most live in poverty. Some are homeless. Many are without support networks or the tools necessary to build a brighter future for themselves and their families. Virtually all are either at risk of becoming involved, involved or affected by the justice system.

MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)
MADD works to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime. Thousands of individuals, corporations, foundations and groups across Canada have joined this effort.MADD Canada works to achieve its mission on a number of fronts:Victim/Survivor Services – Comprehensive program of support and resources for individuals who have lost a loved one or suffered a serious injury as a result of an impaired-driving crash.Youth Services – Specialized programming for elementary, middle schools and high school students to educate them about the dangers of mixing alcohol and/or drugs with driving.Public Awareness and Education – Campaigns to reach out to the public about the dangers of impaired driving and how they can help improve safety on our roads, waterways and trails.Public Policy – Promotion of legislative best practices in impaired driving countermeasures, at both the federal and provincial/territorial levels, to address the impaired driving problem in Canada.Technology – Partnering with international traffic safety organizations, automobile manufacturers and technology companies to explore technological solutions to stop impaired driving.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels (MOW) delivers nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals to a variety of groups, including seniors, people with physical disabilities and cognitive impairments, individuals suffering from illnesses and recovering from surgeries, and those who need special dietary planning and assistance. Most MOW programs in Canada were started by local church groups or steering committees that saw a need to help feed elderly populations in their communities. Today, MOW programs still operate at the local level. Programs vary widely in their size, service provided, organization and funding. The majority of MOW programs deliver meals hot and ready-to-eat, but some deliver frozen meals in containers ready to microwave. Some hot meal programs provide an additional frozen meal during the days prior to a weekend or holiday when there would be no delivery. Depending on the program, meals may be delivered by paid drivers or by volunteers who are screened, trained and usually live in your community.

Saskatoon straddles a bend in the South Saskatchewan River in the central region of the province. It is located along the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway, and has served as the cultural and economic hub of central Saskatchewan since its founding in 1882 as a Temperance colony. The city is home to the University of Saskatchewan, the Meewasin Valley Authority—which protects the South Saskatchewan River and provides for the city's popular riverbank park spaces—and Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a National Historic Site of Canada and UNESCO World Heritage applicant representing 6,000 years of First Nations history. The Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344, the most populous rural municipality in Saskatchewan, surrounds the city and contains many of the developments associated with it, including Wanuskewin. Saskatoon is named after the saskatoon berry, which is native to the region and is itself derived from the Cree misâskwatômina. The city has a significant Indigenous population and several urban Reserves. The city has nine river crossings and is nicknamed "Paris of the Prairies" and "Bridge City".Historic neighbourhoods of Saskatoon include Nutana and Riversdale, which were separate towns before amalgamating with the town of Saskatoon and incorporating as a city in 1906. Nutana, Riversdale, their historic main streets of Broadway Avenue and 20th Street, as well as the downtown core and other central neighbourhoods are seeing significant reinvestment and redevelopment. Sutherland was a rail town beyond the University lands, annexed by the city in 1956.
