About Making Prom Happen

Making Prom Happen is a grassroots nonprofit that helps students attend prom with confidence and dignity, even if financial barriers exist. We work with schools and community partners to support youth who might otherwise miss this milestone experience.

Role Overview:

We are seeking one or two motivated and detail-oriented volunteer grant writers to help secure funding that enables us to continue our programs. This is a great opportunity for post-secondary students or anyone interested in developing skills in fundraising, nonprofit communications, and grant writing, while making a tangible impact in the community. Multiple volunteers may be selected to share responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

• Research funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government programs.
• Draft compelling grant proposals that tell our story and secure support.
• Keep track of deadlines and submissions in collaboration with our team.
• Gain hands-on experience in fundraising, nonprofit communications, and project management.

What You’ll Gain:
