The Compass is a food bank and community outreach centre serving South Mississauga, and their volunteer roles are designed to be flexible and welcoming even if you are brand new. Volunteer shifts are typically about 3 hours, and they are currently onboarding for weekday availability (8 am to 5 pm). Roles include Repacker (a great starter role where you portion bulk items for the food bank), Packaging Orders (packing online food orders as part of a small team), and Hospitality (supporting in the kitchen by serving meals and snacks and helping create a warm, respectful experience for clients). They also offer group volunteering options focused on sorting and organizing food and repackaging bulk items.
