Crisis Line & Community Education Volunteer

WITH CRISIS CENTRE OF BC

Summary

The Crisis Centre of BC provides immediate, free, and confidential support to people in emotional distress, including those struggling with thoughts of suicide. Volunteers are central to this mission, serving as crisis line responders who answer calls and chats from people seeking help. These volunteers offer active listening, compassion, and resources that can make all the difference in someone’s darkest moments. In addition to frontline support, there are opportunities to assist with youth education programs and community outreach.

Volunteers receive comprehensive training and ongoing supervision to ensure they are equipped for the sensitive nature of the work. The experience is both challenging and deeply rewarding, offering a chance to develop valuable communication and crisis intervention skills while making a life-saving impact in the community. By volunteering with the Crisis Centre, individuals become part of a caring team committed to hope, help, and healing.
