About This Opportunity

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a Virtual Youth Workshop Assistant—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves social media. 


The YRES Virtual Youth Workshop Assistant is responsible for: 

- Support the smooth execution of the event, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees

- Help ensure the virtual youth workshop platform is properly set up, including testing video and audio

- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment online 

- Help facilitate attendee participation by encouraging interaction within virtual booths, sessions and breakout rooms 

- Positively representing YRES online 

- Punctual and present throughout the entirety of the event


Location: Virtual, Zoom

Wednesday, April 1st 2026, 5:00PM-6:00PM  

Sunday, April 29th 2026, 5:00PM-6:00PM

Who We're Looking For: 

- Minimum age: 12 

-  Able to independently arrive to work on time 

- Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn 

- Can commit to scheduled time of the shift

- Fluency in English

- Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks
