York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a Race Day Hydration and Cheer Volunteer—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and bringing positive energy to support runners throughout Ottawa Race Weekend.
The YRES Race Day Booth Assistant is responsible for:
- Cheering on runners and creating an encouraging atmosphere
- Handing out water efficiently to participants along the race route
- Helping keep the water station organized and stocked
- Assisting with light setup and cleanup of the station area
- Supporting teamwork and communication with other volunteers and event staff
- Providing feedback on the event experience
- Arriving to the event independently and on time

Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum age: 12
- Able to independently arrive to work on time
- Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn
- Can commit to scheduled time of the shift
- Fluency in English
- Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks
