The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) serves as a valuable platform for collaborating with Holland Bloorview staff, students, clients, and families to shape and assess the organization's programs and services. Participating in YAC offers numerous benefits, including:
Gaining volunteer experience while collaborating with fellow peers at Holland Bloorview.
Developing advocacy and leadership skills.
Contributing to the creation of opportunities for the younger generations of Holland Bloorview clients.
The Youth Advisory Council is open to current and former Holland Bloorview clients who:
Are 14 years of age or older.
Possess independent mobility (which includes using mobility devices or bringing a support person for assistance).
Are motivated to actively contribute to and engage in various projects.
Are committed to attending the monthly meetings.
You can join the YAC at any point during the year. Meetings are held once a month from September to June, and in-person meetings include snacks and attendant care.
