Join us as a Weekend Networking Session Volunteer! Welcome youth, share volunteer opportunities, set up refreshments and box-making materials, support box assembly and outreach, and help with cleanup while building teamwork and leadership skills.
Join our team as a Weekend Networking Session Volunteer and help create a welcoming space where youth can connect, learn about volunteer opportunities, and support the Back-to-School Drive.
What You Will Do:
1. Welcome participants and support an icebreaker activity
2. Help present current volunteer opportunities and answer questions
3. Assist with setting up box-making materials and refreshments
4. Support participants as they assemble donation boxes
5. Help explain the door-to-door outreach script
6. Assist with box drop-offs in the surrounding area, if needed
7. Support cleanup and general event operations
What You Will Gain:
1. Experience in event coordination and community outreach
2. Stronger teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
3. Practical experience supporting volunteer activities
4. An opportunity to help local students and families
Who We’re Looking For:
- Age between 12–30
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups
- Patient, respectful, and supportive when working with seniors
- Ability to guide discussions and encourage participation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail in preparing slides and handouts
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability to adapt communication style to different learning needs
- Commitment to completing basic training
- Fluency in English
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check (required if over 18)
Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge in social media handling
- Public speaking
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Customer service experience
- Creative content creation
