About This Opportunity

Join our team as a Weekend Networking Session Volunteer and help create a welcoming, beginner-friendly session centred around coding, problem-solving, and peer learning. As a volunteer, you will support a small group of participants as they explore simple coding activities, share their interests, and build confidence using technology.

What you will do:
1. Help prepare laptops, coding platforms, instructions, and activity materials
2. Welcome participants and support brief introductions
3. Assist with beginner-friendly coding exercises, challenges, or demonstrations
4. Help participants understand instructions and troubleshoot basic coding issues
5. Encourage participants to share ideas, ask questions, and help one another
6. Support small-group discussions about coding interests, projects, and technology
7. Help keep the session organized and activities moving at a comfortable pace
8. Assist with basic setup and cleanup

Who We’re Looking For:
- Age between 12–30
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups
- Patient, respectful, and supportive when working with seniors
- Ability to guide discussions and encourage participation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail in preparing slides and handouts
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability to adapt communication style to different learning needs
- Commitment to completing basic training
- Fluency in English
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check (required if over 18)

Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge in social media handling
- Public speaking
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Customer service experience
- Creative content creation
