Join us in making this year’s Youth Cultural Diversity Day a successful experience for attendees and participating organizations! For this event we are looking for an Event Support Assistant to assist with event coordination and engage with attendees throughout the event.
Vancouver Region Educational Services (VRES) is a registered non-profit organization committed to providing free and affordable educational services to the Vancouver Region and beyond. VRES provides online and in-person educational services for learners of all ages, including K-12, adults, and seniors.
The Event Support Assistant is responsible for:
Greeting and directing attendees upon arrival
Setting up event booths, activity stations, and décor before the event begins
Preparing and organizing materials for activities and tracking inventory
Run activity stations, and engage with attendees throughout the event.
Taking photos of event highlights and activities for VRES social media channels
Assisting with takedown of all materials at the end of the event
Location: Roundhouse Community Centre, 180 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2Y8
Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS-
Who We're Looking For:
Minimum age: 12 years or up
Fluent in English
Able to independently commute to and arrive at the event location on time (Need help getting here? Travel costs maybe reimbursed upon request)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor event setting
Able to fully commit to the scheduled event timings
Comfortable interacting with children and community members
Takes initiative, follows instructions, and can work independently without close supervision
