The Iqaluit Humane Society relies on the support of the community to keep the shelter operational, whether through donations of supplies and food or offering temporary shelter via our Foster Care Program. Among these contributions, the invaluable work of our volunteers stands out. These remarkable individuals play a vital role behind the scenes, as the shelter operates without paid staff but with 4 shifts daily, 7 days a week, managed by dedicated individuals who balance their 9 to 5 jobs with volunteering their free time to assist Iqaluit's less fortunate citizens.
How You Can Help:
With 720 hours in a month, setting aside 5 or even 10 hours to volunteer is a small ask. We schedule according to your availability, and volunteering costs nothing but your time. To get started, simply contact us at volunteers@iqaluithumanesociety.com or visit the shelter during a shift to express your interest. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.
