Summary

Our Volunteer Leaders learn many positive skills on our virtual training program, which they will teach to others. You will to sign-up to take our virtual 13-session training program which takes place via Zoom, bi-weekly for 2.5 hours each session.

About This Opportunity

To become a Volunteer Leader, you will need to take our virtual 13-session training program held via Zoom. The training is offered at no cost to the trainee. A brief interview is required to ensure that a trainee is a good fit for our training. Becoming a leader is a two-step process. Once you have completed the training, you will be expected to co-lead a workshop with another volunteer within 12 months of your training date to become a certified Volunteer Program Leader. Leaders receive a stipend of $72 for co-leading a 6-week in-person or virtual workshop. As a certified Volunteer Program Leader, you will teach participants how to:


1-Communicate effectively with their health care team

2-Learn ways to positively manage symptoms

3-Make lifestyle changes to become more active and eat healthier

4-Manage fatigue and pain while learning to navigate and combat the symptom cycle

5-Set realistic goals and learn problem-solving strategies

6-Take action with the skills you learn to live a healthier life.
