Summit Housing & Outreach Programs is a community-based organization supporting mental health through housing, care, and connection- empowering people across Halton to live with dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll help support the Summit Health & Wellness Program by getting clients safely to programs in Oakville and Milton. In this role, you will provide reliable transportation using a company vehicle, making a meaningful impact on their health, connection, and overall well-being.

What You’ll Do
• Safely transport clients to scheduled wellness groups and events
• Coordinate schedules with the Volunteer Coordinator
• Ensure passenger safety and follow all vehicle and program policies
• Represent Summit in a professional and welcoming manner
Your Impact
• Help individuals access vital mental health and wellness programs they might otherwise be unable to attend
• Reduce social isolation by supporting connection to community and group activities
• Contribute to participants’ confidence, independence, and overall well-being
• Create a positive, supportive experience through safe and reliable transportation

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for individuals who:
• Are at least 18 years old
• Have a basic understanding of safe and efficient vehicle operation
• Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and a genuine interest in supporting others
Assets:
• Experience in social services or mental health settings
• Lived experience with mental health and/or addictions
Important Information About the Role
• This is a supportive role- volunteers are not expected to provide counselling
• Volunteers may occasionally support individuals experiencing emotional distress
• You will be expected to remain calm, communicate respectfully, and follow safety procedures
• The role includes assisting clients when entering/exiting the vehicle
• Confidentiality and respectful interaction are essential at all times
