About This Opportunity
Distress Centre Niagara is a 24/7 year round, free and confidential telephone support program available to anyone in need in Niagara. Distress Centre Niagara is also part of the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline collaborative. For this position, Volunteer Crisis Responder will answer live calls on our distress line program where they will listen to callers concerns and assist them with solving their own problems, provide information and referrals where appropriate and intervene in life threatening situations. Volunteers will also provide support on the 9-8-8 Suicide crisis hotline as part of their monthly commitment.
This is an in-person volunteer position. Hours or service are to be completed at our location.
