Friendly home visits are offered by 'In Good Company' to lonely people in need of social, emotional, and spiritual help. Our volunteers donate their time (1-2 hours per week) for phone calls, brief outings, sporadic shopping trips, and talks.
We appreciate recommendations from people and organizations, and we follow up by having a member of the at 'In Good Company' team visit a potential client at their home to find out what they're looking for. Every effort is made to pair up clients and volunteers in a mutually beneficial, socially stimulating way.
Our volunteers undergo a thorough screening process and get a one-day training course in senior care, mental health, listening techniques, setting boundaries, and loss and grieving. Monthly meetings offer them ongoing support as well.
Can be virtual (phone/online calls) or on-site (in-person visits).
