About This Opportunity
Cigarette butts are one of the most common - and most overlooked - forms of litter, accounting for 1 in 5 pieces of litter we find at our shoreline cleanups. The filters are made from plastics that leach into our soil and waterways as they break down. In fact, a single cigarette butt can contaminate up to 1000 litres of water!
By joining this cleanup, you’re not just removing toxic litter from the environment; you’re helping turn pollution into something lasting, useful, and public. Every butt collected at this event counts toward our national goal.
