Teleconnect Volunteer: Full job description
As a Teleconnect Volunteer, you will be responsible
for:

in Muskoka who are living with dementia and their care partners.
What we're looking for
Compassion and empathy – able to engage kindly and
sensitively with individuals living with dementia and their care partners
Strong listening skills – attentive, patient, and able to
pick up on emotional cues over the phone
Clear communication – speaks in a calm, respectful, and
easy-to-understand manner
Reliability and consistency – committed to regular contact
and following through on scheduled calls
Respect for confidentiality – understands and maintains
privacy of personal information
Patience and understanding – comfortable with repetition and
varying communication needs
Non-judgmental attitude – open-minded and supportive of
diverse experiences and situations
Basic problem-solving skills – able to recognize when
concerns should be referred to staff
Comfort with telephone-based interaction – confident
engaging without visual cues
Dependability and professionalism – represent the Alzheimer
Society in a positive and respectful manner
Knowledge and/or experience in any of the role responsibilities is considered
an asset.
