BGCBigs accepts teen volunteers (ages 16–18) for their School-based Mentoring program, in which student volunteers visit their mentees during school hours, help with homework, read, play games or simply engage meaningfully. This opportunity is ideal for students seeking to build leadership, communication, and relationship skills in a structured environment. Some school-based mentoring roles allow the teen to volunteer within their own school community, offering a convenient way to contribute.
Beyond school mentoring, there are Club-based volunteering opportunities (after school, in clubs), tutoring roles, and Youth in Care / Mentoring Young Adults (MYYAC) roles, enabling high school volunteers to support younger peers or youth who have faced challenges. BGCBigs requires volunteers to complete orientation, training, and screening, ensuring safe and supported engagement. The process offers a meaningful way for students to give back while developing mentoring and educational support experience.
