Responsibilities
• Sign in and out using the volunteer computer system
• Assist with preparation and implementation of special event
• Porter residents to and from the event
• Provide a fun and engaging atmosphere
• Assist during the event and the subsequent cleanup
• Provide input for evaluation of the event

Skills & Personal Traits
• Must be comfortable interacting with seniors
• Enjoy being part of a team, and work effectively with others
• Dependable, friendly, enthusiastic and patient
• Flexibility with respect to the activities you may be asked to assist with during the event
Orientation & Training
• Facility tour and basic orientation will be provided for every volunteer
• Role-specific training will occur on your first day of volunteering with us
• Ongoing on-the-job training will be provided as necessary
Joining us
• Fill out the Volunteer Application Form
• Attend a brief interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
• Apply for a vulnerable sector check from your local police station if you are 18 years of age or older – submit it to the Volunteer Coordinator when complete
• Obtain a 2-step TB skin test (from the Public Health Unit or your family doctor)
• Have 2 COVID vaccines as well as the annual flu shot
• Complete mandatory online training
• Attend orientation
• Start volunteering!
