About the Role
Bright Lights For Africa Foundation is looking for a creative and passionate Social Media & Content Creator Volunteer to help share our work, programs, stories, events, and community impact with the public.

This volunteer will support BLFA by creating content for social media, assisting with website updates, capturing photos and videos, preparing captions, designing simple graphics, and helping keep our online platforms active, professional, and engaging.

Volunteers may help with social media posts, stories, reels, short videos, event highlights, program updates, community announcements, volunteer opportunities, and website content.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, content creation, photography, short videos, social media, writing, design, and community work. The volunteer will help the world see and experience BLFA’s mission through meaningful and creative content.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create social media content, including posts, captions, stories, reels, short videos, and simple graphics.
  2. Support updates about BLFA programs, events, community initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships.
  3. Assist with website updates, including program pages, event updates, photos, announcements, and community news.
  4. Capture photos and videos during approved BLFA events, workshops, and community activities.
  5. Help organize photos, videos, graphics, and communication materials in shared folders.
  6. Support promotion of BLFA events, campaigns, and community activities.
  7. Prepare content that reflects BLFA’s values of dignity, respect, inclusion, compassion, and community care.
  8. Work with BLFA staff to gather program updates, stories, event details, and photos.
  9. Ensure content is respectful, accurate, and approved before posting.
  10. Protect participant privacy and follow photo/video consent requirements.

Requirements
No formal experience is required, but interest or experience in social media, writing, photography, video, Canva, graphic design, or website updates is an asset.

The volunteer should be creative, respectful, organized, willing to learn, able to follow instructions, and comfortable receiving feedback.
