Your next caption could help someone discover a program or take their first step into volunteering. Join U+ Community as a Social Media & Communications Volunteer and help make community information clear, welcoming and easy to act on. You will turn approved program updates into content that connects with participants and volunteers.
About U+ Community
U+ Community brings volunteers together to support community programs and events. Through U+ Volunteer Connect, volunteers contribute to practical projects in program support, administration, communications and technology.
What you will do
- Draft social posts, captions, program announcements, newsletter items and volunteer stories from approved information.
- Help maintain a content calendar covering program reminders, registration deadlines and relevant seasonal updates.
- Check names, dates, links and next steps so each message is accurate and useful.
- Coordinate with the design and video team, and revise content after staff feedback before publication.
- Record engagement information supplied by staff, summarize useful observations and provide brief updates on your assigned tasks.
What you bring
You enjoy writing for different audiences and can explain information in a friendly, concise way. Familiarity with social platforms is helpful. You should be comfortable checking details, meeting agreed deadlines and using feedback to improve your work.
What you will gain
Practise content planning, writing, editing and interpreting basic engagement information. Help community members find programs and see the contributions volunteers make.
