Social Media Assistant

WITH EATING DISORDER SUPPORT NETWORK OF ALBERTA (EDSNA)

Summary

Role Summary:

EDSNA is seeking a highly organized, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join as a Social Media Assistant. In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse team of staff and volunteers, providing support to the Director of Awareness & Outreach. As a self-starter and team player, you'll assist in sourcing content, drafting captions, managing projects, and creating images for EDSNA's social media platforms and public awareness initiatives.


Responsibilities:

Compile content for EDSNA's social media channels.

Draft original captions and descriptions for images.

Assist in advertising EDSNA programming and public awareness initiatives.

Participate in planning and strategy discussions with staff.

Assist with administrative duties as required.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Uphold EDSNA's vision and mission of supporting those affected by eating disorders.


Experience and Qualifications:

Understanding of eating disorders and mental health concepts.

Familiarity with diversity within eating disorders and barriers to seeking help.

Proficiency with Google tools and primary social media platforms.

Willingness to learn and expand knowledge of other social media platforms.

Self-motivated, able to work independently, and maintain a positive attitude.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in a secondary language is an asset.
