Project Overview
We are seeking a creative and dedicated Volunteer Animator to bring our new children's animated short movie to life. This film is designed to teach children about Sustainability, based on a children's book and will be shown on our YouTube channel, at local libraries, at schools. This is an excellent opportunity for a student, hobbyist, or professional to showcase their skills, create a high-quality portfolio piece, and positively impact young viewers.
Responsibilities
- Animation Production: Create 2D or 3D animations frame-by-frame based on the storyboard and script.
- Character Design & Modeling: The main characters are designed for the book. Bring characters to life with engaging expressions and movements that resonate with children.
- Scene Development: Design and animate backgrounds, props, and scenery, ensuring a consistent and vibrant visual style.
- Collaboration: Work with the director/scriptwriter to ensure character motion aligns with the voiceover and overall tone of the story.
- Editing & Refinement: Participate in the editing process, making adjustments based on feedback to produce a polished, final product.
- Meeting Deadlines: Adhere to a production schedule to ensure the short film is completed on time.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)
- Animation Skills: Experience with animation software (e.g., [Blender, Adobe Animate, Toon Boom, Maya, or After Effects]).
- Portfolio: A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating creativity and ability to animate engaging characters (stylized for children is a plus).
- Passionate Artist: A love for storytelling and an understanding of how to use movement to convey emotion and humor.
- Reliability: Strong time management skills and a commitment to seeing the project through to completion.
- Adaptability: Receptive to feedback and willing to learn new techniques.
