Who We Are
Black Engineers of
Canada (BEC) is a Non for Profit Professional Organization geared towards
providing a safe environment for Black Engineers where they can aspire and
become a better version of themselves. We empower and uplift the Black
Engineers community, including youth and aspiring engineers, by advocating for
equitable opportunities, enhancing living conditions, and promoting mental
health improvement. We achieve this through robust mentorship programs,
impactful networking events, innovative educational initiatives, safe spaces
for difficult conversations, and dedicated research efforts. We are committed
to leveraging all our human and financial resources towards realizing a
stronger and more inclusive community.
The Job
We are searching for a Senior Software Developer (Volunteer) who will handle key responsibilities by dedicating 5 - 7 hours weekly of volunteer time.
The Senior Software
Developer (Volunteer) provides technical leadership and mentorship while
architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that
support Black Engineers of Canada's programs, members, and operations. This
role will help shape the organization's technical roadmap, establish
development best practices, review code, and guide junior developers and
student volunteers in delivering high-quality digital solutions. This position
plays a critical role in strengthening BEC's digital infrastructure and
enhancing the experience of members and stakeholders across Canada.
