- Dedication and enthusiasm for community engagement, lifelong learning, and supporting seniors in building communication confidence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create a welcoming and respectful environment.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to support participants with varying comfort levels in public speaking.
- Good organizational skills and reliability in assisting with session preparation, timekeeping, and attendance tracking.
- Ability to work collaboratively with facilitators and other volunteers while maintaining a supportive learning atmosphere.
Assets:
- Experience working with seniors in community, educational, or volunteer settings.
- Experience in public speaking programs such as Toastmasters, debate clubs, or facilitation roles.
- Experience leading group discussions, workshops, or small group activities.
- Fluency in more than one language (encompassing reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities) to support our diverse community.

This is a volunteer position. We can accommodate different working modes—fully in-person (1595 16th Ave, Richmond Hill), hybrid mode, or fully remote—depending on the candidate’s circumstances. Placement format will be discussed during the selection process.
