Saskatoon Recycling Coach

WITH SASKATCHEWAN WASTE REDUCTION COUNCIL

Summary

Do you want to become a Waste Wizard? The Saskatoon Recycling Coaches are attempting to grow. These volunteers support Saskatoon's efforts to increase recycling and trash diversion alternatives. Once educated, these superstars will educate the public on the activities and steps that may be taken by anyone to limit the quantity of waste being dumped in landfills.

Role responsibilities:

First, endure and finish a training process that includes learning about:

• Recycling Right in Saskatoon

• Simple Composting

• Household Hazardous Waste days

• Province-wide recycling programs

• Store take-back programs

You will be qualified to work with the Rolling Education Unit after your training session. This is a portable educational display with a multitude of educational resources and interactive games. Volunteer stints, which come with free entrance, will last no longer than three hours at a range of public events, mostly in the months of March through April and September through November. A criminal background check will be necessary and is free of charge for you.

• English language proficiency

• Friendly & personable

• Communications skills

• Working with the public

Age restriction: 13+

Time commitment: Short term (3 months or less) ; Ongoing (more than 3 months)
