About This Opportunity
Why volunteer with us:
- Get hands-on training and facilitate real restorative justice circles with youth and families, mentored by staff who often started out as volunteers
- Join a close-knit team that genuinely has each other's backs, this isn't just a volunteer gig, it's a community • Build a foundation for a career in youth work, social work, education, or justice, with real connections across schools, community organizations, and justice partners
- Walk away with a reference and, when you're ready, a possible path to paid roles at Peacebuilders
- Help keep young people in school and out of the justice system, one circle at a time
- Be part of shifting how conflict gets handled in our communities, from punishment to repair
What you'll do:
- Co-facilitate restorative circles with youth and families alongside a lead staff facilitator, moving toward leading your own once trained
- Prep for each session by reviewing case background and meeting briefly with staff beforehand
- Debrief after each circle to track outcomes and next steps for the youth involved
- Join partner schools on a rotating basis to support youth engagement activities outside of formal circles
