About This Opportunity

Handbags for Hospice on the evening of November 4, 2026 raises awareness and funds for Doane House Hospice and Margaret Bahen Hospice.  The Hospices provide support to people living with a life threatening illness from diagnosis to end of life.


As a member of the Handbags for Hospice Planning Committee, you will have the opportunity to work with others to plan our third annual Handbags for Hospice, one of our signature fundraising events.


The Planning Committee Member will attend biweekly Committee meetings and assist with organizing the event, recruiting event participants, marketing the event, and soliciting donations and sponsors.


Skills and experience that would be asset in this position are event planning and/or fundraising experience, flexibility, self-motivation, strong communication and active listening skills, and knowledge of community resources.

  • Over “age of majority” in province of opportunity
  • Willing to undergo a background or police records check
  • Comfortable commuting to opportunity location
