About This Opportunity
Support people through one of the hardest experiences of their lives.
We're looking for compassionate volunteers to provide 1:1 virtual peer mentorship for individuals who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, or diverse family-building pathways.
What You'll Do
1. Be matched with one individual for ongoing 1:1 virtual support
2. Offer a listening ear and a steady, supportive presence
3. Share from your own experience when helpful, without centering it
4. Connect regularly through video call, or phone (based on the match's preference)
Who This Is For
This role is for people who:
1. Have lived experience with pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, and/or diverse family-building experiences
2. Feel ready to support one person at a time in a peer setting
3. Are warm, grounded, and able to hold space for difficult emotions one-on-one
4. Are self-directed and comfortable connecting virtually
You do not need to be a professional or have formal counselling experience.
What to Expect
You'll be matched with one individual seeking peer support at a time. Check-ins are flexible and typically ongoing, based on what your match needs and your availability. Sessions focus on connection and shared experience, not advice-giving or problem-solving, all you need is a reliable internet connection and a private space for calls. Training and ongoing support are provided before you start mentoring.
Requirements
1. Personal lived experience with reproductive grief
2. Ability to attend required training
3. Comfort holding space for a range of emotions without needing to "fix" them
4. Reliable availability for ongoing 1:1 Sessions
5. Reliable access to video/phone and a private, confidential space for sessions
Why It Matters
Many people walk into their first group feeling completely alone. You help change that.
