About This Opportunity
Support people through one of the hardest experiences of their lives.
We're looking for compassionate volunteers to help facilitate in-person and virtual support groups for individuals who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, or diverse family-building pathways (such as adoption and surrogacy).
What You'll Do
1. Co-facilitate small, in-person support groups
2. Help create an affirming, warm, and supportive space
3. Gently guide conversation and connection (no "fixing")
4. Be a steady and supportive presence
Who This Is For
This role is for people who:
1. Have lived experience with pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, and/or diverse family-building experiences
2. Feel ready to support others in a peer setting
3. Are warm, grounded, and able to hold space for difficult emotions and diverse experiences
You do not need to be a professional or have formal counselling experience.
What to Expect
Groups are typically small (anywhere between 3-12) and meet either over Zoom or in-person in Calgary, AB on a monthly or weekly basis. You'll be paired with a co-facilitator so you're not holding space alone and sessions are focused on connection and shared experience, not advice-giving or problem-solving. Training and ongoing support are provided before you start facilitating.
Requirements
1. Personal lived experience with reproductive grief
2. Ability to attend required training
3. Comfort holding space for a range of emotions without needing to "fix" them
4. Reliable availability for scheduled group sessions
Why It Matters
Many people walk into their first group feeling completely alone. You help change that.
