About This Opportunity
The young people involved in our programs are those who face adversity and are in need of an additional consistent and supportive Developmental Relationship in their lives. We recruit volunteers in each of the communities we serve including Saint John, Kings and Charlotte Counties in Southwestern New Brunswick. We intentionally match young people in schools and in the community with these carefully and professionally screened and trained volunteer mentors and provide monitoring and support throughout the lifetime of each match for the mentor, mentee and family. By building Developmental Relationships between the mentor and the mentee that express care, challenge growth; provide support; share power; and expand possibilities, young people can graduate our programs with measurable outcomes. The positive impact in communities include increased social emotional competence, improved mental health and well-being and enhanced educational engagement and employment readiness.
