Summary

The role is to organize a fun & informative fundraising event in your community. The ALS BC’s Events & Support Coordinator will be in close contact with him/her to render support. This position can be filled by either an individual or a team.

About This Opportunity

What You’ll Do

As the Committee Member, you will:

  • Assist with event planning, logistics, and event-day execution
  • Support the Event coordinator with coordinating volunteers, activity leads, and community partners
  • Work alongside the ALS Society and families to ensure a meaningful event experience
  • Help organize timelines, run-of-show, and on-site operations
  • Assist in supporting marketing, outreach, and participant engagement
  • Help ensure the event reflects our mission of hope, remembrance, and action

What We’re Looking For

  • The time commitment for this role is around 1 hour every 2 weeks for preparation, starting several months in advance. As the event approaches, involvement increases to about 1 hour per week in the weeks leading up to it. On event day, you’ll need to dedicate approximately 5 to 7 hours to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Organized, dependable, and willing to lend a hand
  • Clear communicator who works well with teams
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment
  • Passion for supporting the ALS community and creating uplifting experiences
  • Experience in events or project coordination (preferred, not required)
