Volunteer Opportunity: Media & Communications
Vancouver Women's Health Collective
The Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC) is a 55-year-old feminist community health organization located in the Downtown Eastside, serving women and gender-diverse folks through free, low-barrier health and wellness programming.
We're looking for a media and communications volunteer to help us share our work and deepen our community connections. This is a chance to put real skills toward meaningful impact.
What you'd be doing:
Supporting social media content creation and scheduling, drafting or editing e-newsletters and community updates, helping document events and programs through writing or photography, and contributing to our overall communications presence in a way that reflects VWHC's values — warm, feminist, and community-rooted.
What we're hoping for:
Some background in communications, journalism, marketing, or design (formal or otherwise), familiarity with social media platforms, strong writing skills, and a genuine connection to feminist health, harm reduction, or DTES community issues. Fluency in Canva or similar tools is a bonus.
Time commitment: Flexible, approximately 3–5 hours per week. Hybrid (some in-person at 29 West Hastings, some remote).
To express interest: Email fundraising@womenshealthcollective.ca with a short note about yourself and why this role resonates with you.
Volunteer Requirements
Whether you meet these requirements or not, we encourage you to share your interest in us. You may still be a fit for a different opportunity with our organization.
