    Indigenous Outreach Coordinator (Within Canada, Volunteer, Hybrid)

    Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous communities across Canada, identify partnership opportunities, support community initiatives, and help strengthen collaboration through culturally respectful outreach and engagement.

    Role Summary

    The Indigenous Outreach Coordinator plays an important role in building respectful, meaningful, and collaborative relationships between Voice of Men 360 (VoM360) and Indigenous communities across Canada. This position focuses on community engagement, partnership development, and the identification of opportunities for programs, projects, and initiatives that support the well-being of Indigenous boys, men, families, and communities. The coordinator will work closely with Indigenous leaders, community members, and partner organizations to ensure culturally respectful collaboration and promote positive, sustainable outcomes.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establish and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, including Elders, community leaders, and tribal officials.
    • Identify potential projects and partnership opportunities that may benefit Indigenous communities through government programs, nonprofit support, and collaborative initiatives.
    • Engage with Indigenous communities to understand their needs and explore how Voice of Men 360 can assist with community wellness, recreation planning, and support services.
    • Support the development of culturally appropriate outreach strategies and community engagement initiatives.
    • Showcase Indigenous success stories, community achievements, and positive collaborations through organizational platforms and public awareness efforts.
    • Participate in Indigenous community events, gatherings, and initiatives when invited or requested by the community.
    • Maintain respectful communication and ensure all outreach efforts align with cultural sensitivity, trust-building, and long-term relationship development.
    • Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and partnership discussions as required.
    • Maintain records of outreach activities, partnerships, and project developments.
    • Report all developments, recommendations, and progress updates to the President and Secretary.

    Candidate Requirements / Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, traditions, and relationship-building practices within Canada.
    • Experience working with Indigenous organizations, communities, nonprofits, or community-based programs is considered a strong asset.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong listening skills with the ability to engage respectfully and collaboratively.
    • Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with leadership.
    • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
    • Experience in community outreach, program coordination, advocacy, or nonprofit work is an asset.
    • Knowledge of government, nonprofit, and community support systems available for Indigenous communities is beneficial.
    • Commitment to equity, inclusion, reconciliation, and culturally respectful engagement.
    • Lived experience and/or direct community involvement is highly valued.

    Education Requirements

    • Postsecondary education in Social Work, Community Development, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Public Administration, Sociology, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is preferred.
    • Equivalent lived experience, community leadership, or extensive volunteer/community engagement experience will also be strongly considered.

    Time Commitment

    • Minimum commitment of 5–8 hours per week
    • Flexible scheduling based on community engagement needs, meetings, and events
    • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required, depending on community activities and special events
