About This Opportunity

U+ Community — Unpaid volunteer opportunity

Put your visual ideas to work on materials people will actually use. As a Graphic Design & Video Volunteer with U+ Community, you will help turn approved messages and event footage into posters, presentation templates and short videos. Your work can make program information easier to understand and bring community activities to life.

About U+ Community

U+ Community brings volunteers together to support community programs and events. Through U+ Volunteer Connect, volunteers contribute to practical projects in program support, administration, communications and technology.

What you will do

  • Create event posters, simple graphics and reusable presentation templates from a staff-approved brief.
  • Edit approved footage into short promotional or event recap videos, using scripts or storyboards where helpful.
  • Add captions or subtitles and use readable text, clear contrast and accessible layouts.
  • Check event details and branding, incorporate feedback, and prepare files in the formats needed for their intended channels.
  • Keep editable files and final versions organized, and use only approved images, audio and other assets.

What you bring

You enjoy visual communication and have some familiarity with a design or video-editing tool. You can follow a brief, explain your choices and work through revisions. Attention to readability and willingness to learn are as valuable as creative ideas.

What you will gain

Practise designing for real audiences, editing short videos and responding to feedback. Develop your understanding of accessible visual communication and how creative work supports community participation.

Support and responsibility

Staff review the brief, materials and final output. Work within the tools and account access the team authorizes, and protect participants' privacy when using event content.
