Provide regular phone support to a senior/isolated client. Must be warm cheerful and friendly in disposition. You will make regular phone calls using your own telephone and keep a log of all calls. This role is flexible for scheduling.
This role focuses on breaking loneliness through phone conversations. The role is not therapuetic and meant to engage clients in talking and making a connections. You will establish a regular call time(1x per week) and call the client. Calls can be brief but can extend once connection and comforts grow. Volunteer is asked to keep a brief call log and report to Co-ordinator the frequency and date, and any concerns should there be changes.
We urgently need callers and this program is waitlisted with clients waiting. IF you can spare time its a great opportunity to make connections in the community.
