The Greater Vancouver Food Bank supports tens of thousands of individuals and families by distributing food through community hubs and partnerships across the region. Volunteers are essential to this work, and opportunities are open for both individuals and groups. Individual volunteers help with food sorting, packing, and distribution at warehouses and community markets, while corporate and school groups can book dedicated shifts that combine team-building with community impact.
The organization actively recruits throughout the year, with seasonal pushes to meet increased demand. In August and September 2025, the Food Bank is seeking extra group volunteers to prepare for the busy fall season. Volunteers receive orientation and on-site support, making the experience welcoming for newcomers and repeat helpers alike. Whether committing to a regular shift or bringing a group for a one-time event, every volunteer plays a direct role in ensuring fresh and healthy food reaches those who need it most.
