About This Opportunity
The Atlas Financial Literacy Summer Program is seeking dedicated volunteers to support the delivery of a four-week virtual financial literacy program for high school students during July 2026. This is a short-term volunteer opportunity designed for individuals who are passionate about education, mentorship, leadership, and expanding access to financial literacy.
Volunteers may serve in one of three roles:
- Program Coordinator — Oversees program operations, monitors attendance and engagement, tracks participant progress, collects feedback, and helps ensure the program runs smoothly. Financial literacy expertise is not required for this role.
- Program Instructor — Leads virtual workshops and educational activities, facilitates discussions, manages classroom engagement, and provides instruction on financial literacy topics.
- Teaching Assistant — Supports instructors by assisting with lesson delivery, creating educational materials, answering participant questions, and helping facilitate program activities.
Applicants for the Program Instructor and Teaching Assistant positions must demonstrate a strong understanding of financial literacy concepts and the ability to communicate those concepts effectively to students. Candidates for these roles will be evaluated based on their subject-matter knowledge, communication skills, relevant experience, and overall readiness to support student learning.
The program is fully virtual and runs for approximately four weeks throughout July and August 2026. Volunteers are expected to communicate professionally, fulfill assigned responsibilities, and contribute positively to the learning environment.
Selected applicants will participate in an interview process before final volunteer appointments are made.
Benefits:
Volunteers will receive signed volunteer service hours and formal recognition for their contributions to the program. In addition, they will gain valuable leadership, mentorship, and educational experience while helping high school students develop essential financial literacy skills. This opportunity also allows volunteers to strengthen their communication, collaboration, and professional skills in a meaningful and impactful environment.
