The NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre (CFC) is a warm place where people congregate to share wonderful food, take part in culinary classes, grow gardens, discover healthy eating habits, and get involved in neighborhood issues.
Role responsibilities:
- Take directions from the Garden and Food Skills Coordinator
- Examine the health of plants and control any pests or illnesses that are present
- Raise plants using seeds or cuttings
- Repair and clean equipment and tools
- Prepare flowerbeds and borders by digging, planting, and weeding
- Feed plants with nutrients and preserve moisture
- Keep the garden tidy by removing trash and litter from the garden and surrounding area
Required skills:
- Positivity and a desire to participate in a team effort
- Should enjoy working outside and have a passion for gardening
Time commitment: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM – NOON
