About This Opportunity

U+ Community — Unpaid volunteer opportunity

Enjoy meeting people and seeing a plan come together? Join U+ Community as an Events & Community Outreach Volunteer and help create welcoming, well-organized experiences at volunteer fairs, speech contests and community events. You will support the details that help attendees feel informed and included.

About U+ Community

U+ Community brings volunteers together to support community programs and events. Through U+ Volunteer Connect, volunteers contribute to practical projects in program support, administration, communications and technology.

What you will do

  • Help prepare outreach materials and share approved event or program information through authorized community channels.
  • Support attendee registration or check-in, explain basic event information and direct detailed questions to the event lead.
  • Assist with setup, signs, materials, activity stations and end-of-event pack-up as assigned.
  • Help the event team follow its schedule and keep participants informed about where to go and what happens next.
  • Record attendance or feedback using the team's process, report practical issues promptly and help keep event spaces organized and accessible.

What you bring

You are welcoming, dependable and comfortable helping people in a busy setting. Clear communication and willingness to follow an event plan are useful. You should be ready to ask for help when an attendee needs information or support beyond your role.

What you will gain

Develop experience in event logistics, registration and community communication. Meet people working toward a shared event and see how your contribution improves the participant experience.

Support and responsibility

Follow the event lead's instructions and safety procedures. Share only approved information and use participant contact details only for the event tasks assigned to you.
