About Us:
Ronald McDonald House Toronto offers a supportive and nurturing environment for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment. We operate a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and eight Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. Our mission is to provide a sense of normalcy for families during challenging times by offering a range of programs and services.
Purpose:
Dolphin Gaming supports more than 100 local charities through charitable gaming. Ronald McDonald House Toronto is assigned volunteer shifts at the Dolphin Bingo Gaming Centre each month, providing an important fundraising opportunity for our organization.
What You’ll Do:
As a Dolphin Bingo Volunteer representing Ronald McDonald House Toronto, you will help create a welcoming and positive experience for gaming centre patrons while supporting charitable gaming activities. Each successfully staffed session generates funding that directly supports programs and services for families with seriously ill children.
- Welcome customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
- Assist patrons with general information about gaming programs, events, games, and promotions.
- Provide basic guidance to patrons using electronic gaming equipment, within the responsibilities permitted for volunteers.
- Notify gaming center staff when a patron wins and requires assistance with verification or prize distribution.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming gaming environment.
- Support promotional activities and distribute approved materials as required.
- Provide general information about Ronald McDonald House Toronto and how charitable gaming funds support families when asked.
- Assist with other appropriate tasks during the shift, such as maintaining and wiping down gaming areas and equipment.
Please note: Volunteers do not sell gaming products, handle cash, verify winnings, or distribute prizes.

- Reliable, punctual, and committed to assigned shifts.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and interacting with customers for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Requirements:
- Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, as per organizational and charitable gaming requirements. Verification of age through official identification may be required.
- Availability: Able to commit to a minimum of one 2-hour-and-15-minute session per month for at least 6 months.
- Interview: Successful completion of a virtual interview with the Volunteer Resources team.
- Screening & Background Checks: Completion of a satisfactory reference check and a police background check.
Please note: This step may include out-of-pocket costs (e.g., fingerprinting, if required). Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse these expenses.
- Orientation & Training: Completion of required Ronald McDonald House Toronto volunteer orientation and a brief Dolphin Bingo training session prior to the first shift.
- Punctuality: Volunteers must arrive on time for their scheduled shift. Late arrivals or missed shifts may impact Ronald McDonald House Toronto’s eligibility to receive funding from the gaming session.
Shift Information
Each volunteer shift is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Available sessions may take place throughout the day and overnight, including:
- 9:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- 12:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
- 2:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- 4:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
- 6:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- 9:00 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.
- 11:15 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.
- 1:30 a.m. – 3:45 a.m.
Specific gaming dates and available shifts are typically shared approximately one month in advance.
