Whether you're an experienced contractor or someone who's never wielded a hammer, our Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area Build Site Volunteer opportunity is open to you!
Habitat's mission is to rally volunteers and communities to support working, lower-income families in building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
Here's what you need to know:
No prior building experience is required for volunteers.
Our skilled Crew Leaders provide onsite training.
Building takes place year-round, Monday to Friday.
Volunteers need to bring their CSA approved, green label, steel-toed boots, safety goggles, and work gloves.
The minimum age to participate in building is 16 years old.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Shifts are a minimum of 8 hours, running from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at our Oshawa Build Site. Shift scheduling is done online, allowing for flexibility.
You can choose to volunteer for a single day or on a regular basis.
Our Build Site is located at 364 Centre Street in Oshawa. Join us in making a difference in our community by contributing to the construction of homes for those in need.
