Community Adult Literacy Programs (CALP)

WITH MOUNT WADDING FAMILY LITERACY SOCIETY

Summary

The Mount Waddington Family Literacy Society works with communities, schools and organizations to support literacy and learning on North Vancouver Island. Community Adult Literacy Programs (CALP) are valuable initiatives that focus on improving adult literacy and essential skills within local communities. These programs rely on dedicated volunteers to support adult learners in their educational journey. As a CALP volunteer, you may contribute by tutoring individuals one-on-one or in small groups, facilitating conversation circles, providing administrative assistance, or developing educational resources. By volunteering with CALP, you help adults enhance their literacy skills, build confidence, and create a foundation for lifelong learning. Your involvement in these programs enables individuals to overcome literacy barriers, expand their opportunities, and achieve their personal and professional goals.
