About This Opportunity
The purpose of the L’Arche London Coffee House is to provide a bi-weekly “open Mic” evening, with refreshments, at the L’Arche London Gathering Place. The Coffee House provides our community an opportunity for social engagement and enjoyment in the heart of Lambeth.
The Coffee House Volunteer will:
Work under the direction of the Coffee House Kitchen Assistant.
Hours:
2-4 hours bi-weekly on Wednesday Evenings from 5:30-9:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
Assuring safety for all in the kitchen
Preparing and displaying food
Making coffee, tea, hot chocolate
Assembling serving ware
Assisting/supporting Core Members to perform kitchen tasks
Welcoming and serving guests
Setting up and clearing display case and coffee table, tables and chairs
Washing dishes
Custodial duties: emptying garbage, sweeping kitchen floor, cleaning washrooms at the end of the evening
Working with the team (Coffee House Staff, Music Facilitator, Program Coordinator, Volunteers) to support each other in completing all tasks necessary before leaving for the evening.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The Coffee House Volunteer must be hard-working, personable, flexible and able to work cooperatively with fellow Coffee House Team Members. They must be able to offer a consistent commitment to Coffee House for 1 year (2-4 hours every 2 weeks)
Knowledge and appreciation of the Identity and Mission of L’Arche is an asset.
Food Handler Training Certificate is an asset
