Classroom Support Volunteer
Kid’s Mondo Learning Centre is welcoming Classroom Support Volunteers who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a childcare and learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are interested in childcare, early childhood education, teaching, child development, or working with children in the future.
Volunteers may support educators with daily classroom routines, preparing materials, helping set up activities, assisting with arts and crafts, story time, learning activities, outdoor play, transitions, and general classroom organization. Volunteers may also help children during supervised activities by encouraging participation, modelling positive behaviour, and supporting a safe and welcoming environment.
Volunteers should expect to work under the direction and supervision of Kid’s Mondo staff at all times. Volunteers are not responsible for supervising children alone and must follow the instructions of educators and supervisors.
This position is a good opportunity to build skills in communication, teamwork, patience, responsibility, organization, professionalism, and working in a child-focused environment.
Requirements
Volunteers must be reliable, respectful, responsible, and willing to follow directions. Volunteers must follow all centre policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and behave professionally around children, families, and staff.
You will need:
- Orientation (schedule a meeting with us!)
- References (2-3 non-professional/professional)
- First Aid/CPR C qualification
- Up-to-date Immunization
- Resume preferred
Applicants who are 18 and older will need:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check (A letter will be given after our meeting to facilitate this process)
