About This Opportunity
This is a volunteer leadership role with the opportunity to shape the future of a 15-year-old charity that serves Black, newcomer, and racialized communities across Calgary.
ABOUT US
Wings of Hope fGlobal Foundation (CRA #850144502RR0001) was founded in 2011 and has operated in Calgary since 2016. We empower Black families and communities by fostering self-sufficiency and alleviating poverty. Nearly 30% of Black households in Canada experience food insecurity — twice the national rate. We exist to change that.
Our flagship Cultural Food Bank provides culturally appropriate groceries — familiar spices, staples, and gift cards that preserve dignity and choice. We also run senior wellness programs (cooking circles, digital literacy, storytelling), after-school tutoring, community kitchens, and settlement support for newcomers. We serve families in 9 languages across NE Calgary, Applewood, and Airdrie.
