About This Opportunity
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Representing U+ Community at events, workshops, and outreach initiatives to promote our programs and mission.
- Engaging with community members, answering questions about our initiatives, and sharing information about available programs.
- Supporting social media efforts by helping create content, sharing updates, and promoting organizational activities online.
- Assisting with marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives to increase community awareness and participation.
- Collaborating with team members to strengthen outreach efforts and ensure consistent messaging across events and digital platforms.
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm for community outreach, public engagement, and representing a mission-driven organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently interact with diverse audiences.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor when representing the organization at events and programs.
- Reliability and strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and fellow volunteers.
- Willingness to support outreach initiatives through both in-person events and online promotion when needed.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required from successful candidates (not reimbursed). These can be obtained after placement is secured but must be acquired before the first day of placement.
Assets:
- Experience in public relations, marketing, or community outreach roles.
- Experience volunteering or working at events, workshops, or community programs.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools.
- Leadership experience in school clubs, teams, or community initiatives.
- Fluency in more than one language (encompassing reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities) to support our diverse community.

This is a volunteer position. We can accommodate different working modes—fully in-person (1595 16th Ave, Richmond Hill), hybrid mode, or fully remote—depending on the candidate’s circumstances. Placement format will be discussed during the selection process.
