Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum is a significant Cold War artifact, serving as the country's central communications headquarters during that era. Today, it stands as a unique museum and national historic site, sharing stories of national and international importance.
Board Recruitment:
Diefenbunker is seeking qualified candidates to join its volunteer Board of Directors, guiding the organization toward its next phase of growth. If you have a passion for history and share our commitment to the museum's success, we want to hear from you.
We're Looking For:
Individuals with expertise in Senior Military Leadership, Engineering, Philanthropy, Fundraising, Donor Relations, and Advocacy.
Candidates from diverse backgrounds to enhance the cultural, social, and geographic diversity of the Board.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the implementation of the museum's mandate and vision.
Ensure legal compliance, set strategic priorities, assess risks, and maintain financial stability.
Champion the organization within personal networks, participate in fundraising activities, and plan for Board succession.
Director Time Commitment:
Attend six Board meetings annually (hybrid virtual and in-person), each lasting two hours.
Participate in bi-monthly committee meetings and occasional strategic planning sessions.
Term of office is three years, renewable for up to three terms (maximum of nine years).
