About This Opportunity
On Saturday, August 15, Sport Calgary is hosting our Annual All Sport One Day. Partnering with community sport organizations across Calgary, we provide youth with the opportunity to try new sports for free and discover a lifelong passion for being active.
With your help, we can create a fun, welcoming experience for participants at one of our Multisport Hubs across the city!
Goals:
- Provide opportunities for children and youth to discover new sports and the joy of being active.
- Connect families with local sport organizations, facilities, and programs.
- Encourage physical literacy and lifelong participation in sport.
Event Day Timeline:
- 8:15am – Volunteers arrive, meet the team, and help with set-up.
- 9:30am – Participant check-in begins.
- 10:00am – 3:00pm – Sport sessions take place.
- 2:30pm – Tear-down begins.
- 3:30pm – Event concludes.
Main Volunteer Roles:
- Greeter/Host
- Check-in
- T-shirt Distribution
- Name Tag Distribution
- On-site Registration & Waitlists
- Runner/Event Support
Qualifications:
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and comfortable interacting with the public.
- Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for sport and recreation.
- Attend a 1-hour volunteer onboarding session prior to the event.
Volunteers will receive an All Sport One Day t-shirt as a thank you for volunteering with us!
